Twisted cup competition / Anna's demonstration for making multi-parts molds
Inspiration Point
Tavares made printmaking and showed me how to do it. I was so excited at seeing all the time when he and Carla (printmaking coordinator) did. Now, I am getting obsessed with printmaking...
So much fun :-)
I love the neon work. I wanna see this work in completely dark dark dark room again. I saw the work in daytime and nighttime and in the crowded and alone. In the dark, the neon looks like floating in the air and more isolated... Seeing it alone, I felt that "I" means myself and the work corresponds my feeling that I am looking for the next place to live as home at present but I do not know where... Especially, since the earthquake happened in Japan, I have considered that my home is not safe and unstable; I still miss my home in Japan as "Home" but I am not comfortable to live there anymore... "Where Do I Go From Here" asks me "Where else do I feel homey if my home is not "home" anymore" and "Where can I go... Maybe nowhere..."I went to Pilchuck glass school in Seattle on May 23-June 10. It was so much fun and I learned so many things from Tavares and all people who was there.
I was an artist assistant for Tavares Strachan. He made a lot of experimental works and some completed works for 2.5 weeks. He is an amazing and professional artist and a great person (he knows Japanese somehow... I still try to figure it out why he knows so many funny Japanese...). It was so much fun to work with him. I hope that I will work with him again and soon :-).
